#OnePeloton

I think it’s important to be active and get at least 30 minutes of movement in each day. Am I perfect at this? Not even close, but I have decided to up my fitness game and incorporate more activity. Life has gotten the best of me, and I haven’t been able to go to the gym as often as I used to, but I’m figuring out a way to get more activity in each day. For me, that is indoor cycling on my Peloton.
I was always terrified of a spin class because I always thought I’d pass out. Eventually, one of my friends made me try a spin class and took me to Cycle Bar. I had no idea what to expect and suddenly, the lights went down, the music went up and we were rocking out on a bike! What is happening? I was hooked! That was the most fun I’ve had working out, I think ever! No offense to my personal trainer, because I love (most days) his workouts, but this was another level of something crazy! Shortly after that, we went to NYC for a girl’s trip, and she signed us up for a live Peloton class. At the time, I wasn’t familiar with the Pelo life, but we took the live class, front, and center (there is still a recording in the Peloton library), and I felt amazing! A year later, we were back again for another live session, again front and center. That’s when I decided that I needed to get my own Peloton bike. I had it on my wish list for a few years, and recently, the delivery truck dropped one-off just for me!
I love the fact that I can do a live workout at home with the trainers, just like if I were in the studio or I can do a floor workout if my sit bones are still sore from previous rides. I also like it that if I’m feeling ambitious, I can do a HIIT cycle ride, do an ab circuit, and then top it off with Barre and stretching. Yes, this happened, and let’s just say I was a tad sore. Did I mention I went to the gym the next day and it was leg day? Yes, the legs were shakin’! I love the community of people, I love the magnitude of instructors, music genres, and time intervals. For example, today I only had about 30 minutes to spare before I had to get the littles from school. I hopped on the bike and rocked out to a highly recommended 30 mins Britney Spears ride by Cody that came from another Peloton member. It was intense! My inner 16-year-old was quite excited and pushed to the max! By the end of the ride, I was hunched over and about to throw up. Composed me, put on my jacket, and out the door I went to get my littles and mom life continued. The best part? I feel amazing! I have a ton of energy and I worked out any stressors from the workday in under 30 minutes without ever leaving my house and dealing with traffic!
Why Peloton? It’s more than a bike. It’s a community, belonging, encouragement, determination, and challenging. It’s health, fitness, and a lifestyle that anyone can get behind, regardless of their fitness level. If you’ve ever thought about investing in one, please take the plunge and try it out! (Technically, they have a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you really don’t have anything to lose.) But for the sake of this being a sales pitch, I wanted to share something I was most enthusiastic about. In recent years, it’s been fitness because I had the baby weight to lose, but recently it’s been all about my Peloton and what it does for me and how I can fit it in my busy life! Bonus — the hubs use it, also. If it’s a nighttime ride, we tun the lights low, pump up the music and escape to cycling bliss! Do you have a Peloton? If so, let’s ride together! See you on the leaderboard Pelo friends!
